Parish Council

Parish Councils are the first tier of government and Stoke Gifford has had a civil parish council since 1894 when parish councils were first created. Stoke Gifford parish is served by twelve councillors who were elected in May 2011.

The Parish Council strives to improve the well being, leisure and safety of all residents of Little Stoke, Stoke Gifford, Harry Stoke and Stoke Park and obtain value for resources.

Upon inception this council set out to improve communication between residents and the PC, develop the Council's Green Space Strategy and organise events which foster a well being and community spirit.

The rejuvenation of this website is a cornerstone to the parish council's strategy towards community involvement and works are now in progress to ensure its updated as soon as possible.

The Parish welcomed a new Clerk during February of this year and preparations are currenlty being made to take the Parish forward over the coming years.  Steve Shield joined the Parish after 13 years working with South Gloucestershire Council and we welcome his skills and experience to the role.
